From President, Tom Holm
New Save Our
Streams Coordinator:
The IWLA has named Kami Watson as the Save Our Streams
Coordinator. She will coordinate and implement the League’s
Watershed Education and Outreach Program and will be responsible
for managing stream-related activities for the Watershed
Programs and assisting the Director and Wetlands Coordinator on
all other Watershed and Wetland events.
Kami has an expansive background in watershed education, water
quality and land-use impact. She comes to the League from the
Chesapeake Bay Foundation where she managed the Susquehanna
Watershed Education Program. “I’m sure S.O.S. will blossom under
her care” said Leah Miller, the League’s Director of Watershed
Programs.
Trees and
Shrubs for Wildlife Habitat:
Trees and shrubs for Wildlife Habitat will be available, at a
low cost, from the Iowa DNR this spring.
The Songbird packet, consisting of 20 8-24 inch bare root tree &
shrub seedlings, was developed in cooperation with the Audubon
Iowa and is available at a cost of $20 inclusive of shipping.
For landowners with two to five acres there are special wildlife
packets, consisting of 200 trees and shrubs, available at a cost
of $90 inclusive of shipping.

Dan Young, “Outdoors Dan”, put on a superb youth bow hunting
clinic. Each child got to shoot an arrow at a target and
received a prize. Bob Dowson, Tom Holm and Rod Kent assisted Dan
with the clinic.
Lake
Tanecomo Fishing Trip

Remember the past years, Trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo,
Branson Mo.? If you’ve done it before you know it’s great fun.
If you haven’t had the experience you are in for a treat.
City of Branson is the second part of the treat. Shows,
entertainment, night life, anything you want to do is available.
Recent experiences have proven the fishing is good. The resort
owner is willing to work for our business.
Here is the plan:
- Rooms
reserved for Wednesday April 6 through Saturday April 10
- $45 per
night for double room (2 people) and kitchenette
- Stay
whatever days you like but let us know ASAP
- Great
steak fry at the resort
- Great
prizes plus pool for the big fish

name in the hat. A credit card confirmation will hold a room.
