Spring
Hillbilly Auction Resurrected
At the February Board meeting the Board decided to go ahead with
the spring auction. It is now scheduled for April 11th. So while
doing spring cleaning wipe the dust off those things no longer
being used and bring them down to the club house after 3pm on
April 11th. As you know this is the main fund raiser for the
“Little Ikes” program.
No Dues, No News
After this mailing only those who have paid their 2006 dues will
be sent a newsletter. To continue getting the newsletter you
need to mail in your dues or pay them at the door on Tuesday
nights.
Earth Day at Neal Smith Refuge
The Neal Smith Wildlife refuge will be observing Earth Day,
April 22, 2006, working on reestablishing a tall grass prairie
and oak savanna. They would appreciate volunteers from the Izaak
Walton League to help with this project. You will need to be
there by 8:30 AM and work until noon. A free lunch will be
provided and participants will be awarded a newly designed
participants badge. If you would like to volunteer, please
contact Ron Cain at 515-961-2769 by April 7, 2006. |

Treasurer’s
Notes on Ike Activities
As Treasurer, members have asked me what we do with our money.
One of the things is to give support to other charitable
organizations such as the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation which
is working to save green spaces throughout the state. At our
last meeting the Board agreed to help fund the Iowa Whitewater
Coalition’s Clean River team, for their work cleaning up the
north Raccoon River, and the Heart connection Children’s Cancer
Program for their “Matt” memorial run through Water Works park.
You should be proud to know that all of you are supporting
groups to make our state and community a better place to live.
Craig Rogers, Your Treasurer.
Door Prizes
Note: We are in need of door prizes for the weekly drawing. See
Sony Satre, Program Chairman if you can donate an item.
Make sure you sign your dinner ticket to be eligible to win. You
must be present to win. |
