Bass/Crappie outing – May 14 & 15. The annual Ike’s Bass and Crappie outing  is scheduled for May 14 and 15th at Lake Rathbun.  If you plan on joining in on the Saturday evening feed, your $10 fee must be paid by May 11 to either Fred Noon, (283-0227), or Rod Kent, (285-2358). We would like to see more new members join us on this outing.  For more information contact one of the above mentioned.   Ding Darlings to Create New Fund The Ding Darlings are creating a “Ding Darling Conservation Education” fund at the Natural Heritage foundation.  If you would like to help with a donation, see one of the Ding Darlings or Jay Samuelson for a form and additional information.   Calendar of Events 5/11                 S.O.S. Volunteers Needed Help support your chapter and gain enjoyment at the same time by helping out at one of the below listed events. May 15 – Hy-Vee fishing derby at Water Works park.  A sign-up sheet will be available Tuesday night.   June 5 – Polk County Fishing clinic, at Water Works park from 8 AM to noon.  Contact Rod Kent or “Outdoors” Dan Young for more information or to sign up.   June 12 – Special person fishing day at Big Creek Lake from 9 AM to noon.  See Mike Lucas for more information and/or to sign up.   New Member Special Night, June 1 Tuesday night, June 1 will be “New Member Special night”  and for this event we will have a special introductory program. This program will provide new members with the opportunity to become acquainted with some of the chapter’s special activities by having the person in charge of the activity, (e.g.: Rod Kent, Family Fishing), give a brief  talk followed by a question and answer period. Each of these chairpersons need to contact Mike Lucas, our program chairman, so he knows in advance who will be speaking that evening.   Door prizes We are in need of door prizes for the weekly drawing.  See Mike Lucas if you can donate an item.

To volunteer for any of the above, see inside for information.   Note:  Hunting and fishing licenses may be purchased at the chapter house on Tuesday evenings.
