Ike’s
Bass/Crappie Outing Results
There were 30 members and guests that enjoyed the outing May5 –
7 at Lake Rathbun.
The following members need to be thanked for their part in
making the weekend a success: Fred Noon and Rod Kent for making
the arrangements, Joe Gavin for getting the door prizes and food
for the steak fry and, also, for fixing biscuits and gravy
Saturday and Sunday mornings, and Wayne Roshau for pulling the
Ike’s cooker to the campsite and cooking the steaks.
Also, thanks to Dave Nitzel, manager at Sportsman’s Warehouse
for donating four $15 gift certificates for prizes.
Winners of the fish contest were:
- Wayne Roshau,
14” crappie,
- Rich Sychra,
16” white bass and
- Cleon McMahon,
14” walleye.
Door Prizes
Note: We are in need of door prizes for the weekly drawing. See
Sony Satre, Program Chairman if you can donate an item.
Make sure you sign your dinner ticket to be eligible to win. You
must be present to win. |

Ikes/Outdoors
Dan Family Fish Day is June 3
The 4th annual Izaak Walton League/Outdoors Dan family fish day
will be held June 3rd from 8 am to 3 pm at Water Works Park.
Last year 8900 families attend and the hope is to reach 10,000
this year.
June 3rd is a free fishing day in Iowa. We encourage all to
bring their kids out to join in the event which will include
casting contests, kids rides, vendors set up with food and
beverages and a prize for every child that attends.
The title sponsor will, again, be Dahls Foods along with Line-X
Spray on Bed Liners, Bike World, The Struve Subway Family,
Stoney Creek Inn, Sportsman’s warehouse, Zebco and Quantum
fishing gear, Plano Tackle Boxes, Tanis Holmquist, Iowa Reality,
Berkley Power Bait and Dewey Ford.
Volunteers Needed for the Family Fish Day
We need volunteers from 7 am to 3 pm to help with:
Parking and traffic control, Teaching casting, Prizes in the
prize tent, putting night crawlers in containers, Helping
children with fishing and various other duties.
To volunteer your much needed help see Rod Kent at the bar our
Wimpy Stifle.
