River
Run/Garbage Grab Another Success
The August 18 River Run/Garbage Grab was a big success due to:
Walt Blake (Dahl’s Foods) donating 100 hamburger patties and
buns, Andy Streit (1321 SE 14th HyVee) donating 240 bottles
drinking water and a 20% discount on 100 hamburger patties &
buns plus other items, Rich Galloway (Daddyo’s Foods) donating
the baked beans and Ike volunteers Sonny Satre, Jim Durbala, Bob
Dowson, Greg Fay, Tom Holm, Joe Gavin, Jay Samuelson, Rich
Galloway, Rod Kent, Lee Tidrick, Marion & Marj Streigel, Fred
Noon, Bob Jewett, Cleon McMahon, Don Richman, Wimpy Stifel, Mike
Lucas, Vivian Vogel and Jerry Starrett. Don Schomer & Kathy
Wennihan from Mercy Wellness also helped.
An issue arose over distribution of “T” shirts. Initially only
the team leaders were given “T” shirts. As of Tuesday night Rod
had 16 members signed up to work the event so he called and
requested 16 shirts. 3 people on the list didn’t show up so the
first 3, not on the list, arriving at Sycamore access were given
shirts.
