Special thanks to Dick McWilliams from DNR, Randy Brightwell from Waters Edge Marine, Marj and Marion Striegel for operating the large flat bottom boats loaded with garbage from the canoes and kayaks that came down the river.

River Run Garbage Grab Thank You Continued

Others deserving special thanks are: Wimpy Stifel and Mike O’Deay for cooking the food. Larry Clark for providing the food and beverages, and Bill Stowe with the City of Des Moines for providing the dumpsters.

Big Time for Uncle Ike’s Kids at Campout

The liquid sunshine didn’t dampen the kid’s enjoyment at the campout held August 4 – 6. The kids created different faces and rock monsters from rock, goggle eyes, shells, pipe cleaners and markers. They road bikes and scooters around the camp site and played at the playground. Saturday afternoon they enjoyed a long ride in Rod Rummer’s boat. They also roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire and a good time was had by all thanks to the generosity of fellow Ike members. (Pictures will be on the Web Site in the near future,)
