Notes from President, Tom Holm
Ron Kuntz,
past Iowa Division and Des Moines Chapter President, is hosting
“Sportsman’s Notebook on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
on news radio 1040 WHO. Ron wants to remind Ikes to call in
upcoming Chapter events. He asks that you call in, rather than
send a note, when possible.
Convention Notes:
An Iowa
Division resolution on Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) was
adopted by delegates at the 2004 National convention.
CWD
could potentially decimate the native deer and elk species of
North America, resulting in ecological problems and impacting
tourism and hunting industries.
“Therefore, be it resolved that the Izaak Walton League of
America, assembled in convention on July 16th, 2004 in Buena
Park, California, supports the Chronic Wasting Disease
Alliance in urging Congress to request a study and
recommendations from the National Academy of Sciences on the
impact and spread of Chronic Wasting Disease”.
