Club House
Grounds Receive a Good Going Over
On November 5, 2005 the Club House grounds were set upon by
volunteers for an annual clean-up. The clean-up was very
successful and over 17 members turned out. They did a fantastic
job and their efforts are appreciated.

Veterans
This program provides the material for use by disabled veterans
in making handcrafted leather goods.
Please help these veterans by donating your skinned & cleaned
Deer, Elk or Cowhides.

Tail Feather
Contest
We will, again, have a contest for the longest pheasant tail
feathers from birds shot this year by members.
First prize is an AM/FM CD tape player, 2nd is Car Care
products, 3rd Shotgun Shells, 4th Small Folding Pliers, 5th Pen
& Pencil Set, 6th Fishing Pole.
Bring your feathers in to Wimpy.
Sponsors for this event are: Dahl’s 12th & Grand WDSM, Miller
Hardware, Wright Chevrolet and Gavin Inc.
Ice Fishing
Outing
The outing will be at “Three Mile Lake” Jan. 20, 21 and 22,
2006. Cabins are reserved on a first come basis and the $90 fee
must be paid to Rod Kent by 12/20/05. For more information call

Environmental
Competition
Des Moines Ikes are
invited to enter a competition to honor individuals who have
done great work for the environment, or benefiting outdoor
recreation. Sponsored by WHO Radio and our Chapter, entry is
made by writing a short note nominating a man, woman or teenager
who has distinguished themselves in doing good works. Deadline
for entry is December 30, 2005 and should be sent to Keith
Krikpatrick, WHO radio, 2141 on WHO’s Sportsmen’s Notebook,
Sunday Jan 22, 2006 (9:00 to 10:00 a.m.) Prizes are plaques
given by our Ikes Chapter plus being featured on the special
broadcast, with additional prizes from the Iowa Machine Shed
Restaurant, and the Comfort Suites Motel in the Des Moines area. |
